Udaipur Power Cut on October 9 : Maintenance Drive to Affect Over 100 Areas, 8-Hour Outage in Several Prime Colonies

Udaipur | Residents across Udaipur will face major power cuts on Thursday, October 9, as part of a large-scale maintenance drive being undertaken by the Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL).

According to officials from the electricity department, power supply will remain suspended from 9 AM to 5 PM in several parts of the city to facilitate essential maintenance and upgradation work.

Areas to be affected

The outage will impact more than 100 localities, including both residential and commercial zones. Major areas listed by AVVNL include:

Why the maintenance?

Officials said that the scheduled power cut is part of the annual preventive maintenance program to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply ahead of the festive season.

Teams will inspect transformers, replace outdated cables, and upgrade feeders in the affected localities. The AVVNL has also appealed to residents to plan their electrical work accordingly and extend cooperation during the maintenance period.

Advice to residents

Charge essential devices (phones, inverters, etc.) beforehand.

Avoid using lifts during the outage.

Keep water storage ready in high-rise buildings where pumps may not work.

Disconnect sensitive appliances to prevent voltage fluctuations when power resumes.
