Prafull Hinge’s Dream IPL Debut: Young Pacer Shines with Match-Winning Spell for SRH

Hyderabad

A new star emerged in the Indian Premier League 2026 as Prafull Hinge delivered a sensational performance on his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. The young right-arm pacer played a pivotal role in his team’s commanding 57-run victory, dismantling a strong batting lineup with his lethal bowling.

Early Breakthroughs Turn the Game

Captain Ishan Kishan handed the ball to debutant Hinge in the opening over, with in-form batters Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease. However, the young pacer made an immediate impact:

  • He dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi on the second delivery.
  • He claimed the wicket of Dhruv Jurel on the fourth ball.
  • He sent Dwaine Pretorius back to the pavilion on the final ball of the over.

Hinge finished with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 34 runs in his four overs, including 13 dot balls, breaking the backbone of Rajasthan Royals’ batting lineup.

Planned Attack with Precision

Revealing his strategy after the match, the 24-year-old said that dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi was his favorite moment. He shared that he had planned in advance to target the batter with a bouncer early in his spell. Hinge credited SRH bowling coach Varun Aaron for helping him execute the plan effectively. He also revealed that he had written down his goal of taking four to five wickets on debut.

Journey from Nagpur to IPL

Hailing from Nagpur in Vidarbha, Hinge began playing cricket at the age of 13. He made his first-class debut for Vidarbha in October 2024 and gained recognition with strong performances in the Ranji Trophy. The young pacer looks up to Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins as his idol.

Ishan Kishan Leads with the Bat

Before the bowlers’ brilliance, skipper Ishan Kishan set the tone with an explosive innings of 91 runs off just 44 balls, including eight boundaries and six sixes. His knock powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a massive total of 216 runs. In response, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 159, handing SRH a comprehensive win.
