Tehran: Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a strong statement suggesting that the conflict could continue for a prolonged period. Iranian officials claim the country is fully prepared to sustain an intense war for months and has not yet used its most advanced missile systems.
The statement comes at a time when Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely weakened. However, Iranian officials rejected these claims and insisted that their armed forces remain strong and capable of fighting a long and difficult war.
Iran Signals Long-Term War Preparedness
According to IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naeini, Iran has enough resources and ammunition to continue fighting at the current intensity for at least six months. The statement appears to be a direct response to claims that Iran’s military strength has been significantly reduced.
Claims of Strikes on Strategic Targets
Reports by Fars News Agency suggest that Iran has already targeted more than 200 strategic locations linked to the United States and Israel. These reportedly include American bases in Gulf countries and Israeli military facilities.
Advanced Missiles Yet to Be Used
In a report cited by BBC Persian, Iranian officials claimed that so far the country has only used first and second generation missiles in its operations. According to the IRGC, Iran’s most advanced and long-range missile systems have not yet been deployed.
Warning of Escalation
Iranian military leaders warned that the next phase of the conflict could involve the deployment of more sophisticated and long-range missiles currently kept in reserve. Analysts say the statement could also be part of psychological warfare, aimed at deterring a potential ground invasion and demonstrating Iran’s strategic readiness.
If such advanced missile systems are used, experts believe it could significantly test Israel’s missile defense systems and increase tensions across the Gulf region.
