Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya congratulated former skipper Rohit Sharma on completing 15 years with the franchise, delivering a heartfelt speech in the dressing room and calling him the team’s biggest source of inspiration.

In a video shared by MI on social media, Hardik said, “Ro, congratulations on completing 15 years. Thank you for leading this franchise for so many years. I made my debut, Bumrah did, and many of us started our careers under your leadership. Thank you for inspiring so many players who have represented this franchise and the country. As a person, you have been incredible—friendly and open-minded. Thank you for always leading from the front.”

On the milestone, Rohit Sharma expressed gratitude to his teammates, support staff, and the franchise management. In another video shared by the franchise, he credited the team environment for shaping his journey as a captain.

Reflecting on Mumbai Indians’ success under his leadership, Rohit emphasized that the achievements were a result of collective team effort rather than individual brilliance. He acknowledged the support of the franchise and its stakeholders in helping him grow both as a captain and as an individual.

Rohit also thanked the franchise owners for backing him during crucial phases of his career.

Rohit Sharma began his IPL career in 2008 with Deccan Chargers, where he played until 2010. He joined Mumbai Indians in 2011 and has been with the franchise ever since. Appointed captain in 2013, he led MI until 2023, guiding the team to five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020), making MI one of the most successful franchises in the league alongside Chennai Super Kings.

He is also Mumbai Indians’ most successful batter, having scored 6,267 runs in 235 innings across 239 matches, including two centuries and 41 half-centuries.
