Lucknow,
Young Prince Yadav has emerged as one of the most impressive fast bowlers in Indian Premier League, and his brilliant spell against Royal Challengers Bengaluru became one of the biggest talking points of the match. The young pacer from Lucknow Super Giants grabbed headlines after clean bowling Virat Kohli for zero.
Chasing a massive target of 213 runs, RCB needed Kohli to anchor the innings. However, Prince Yadav had different plans. Bowling the second over of the innings, Prince delivered a sharp-moving ball that completely beat Kohli’s bat and shattered the stumps. The dismissal stunned fans as Kohli was dismissed for a duck in the IPL for the first time since 2017.
After the match, Prince Yadav revealed an interesting detail behind the wicket. He said that after the previous match, he had a conversation with Virat Kohli, who advised him to continue bowling on the length that was helping him.
Prince said, “Virat bhaiya told me only one thing — keep bowling on the length where you are getting assistance. I followed that advice.”
Ironically, the same advice helped Prince dismiss one of the greatest batters in the game. The pacer finished with impressive figures of 3/33 in four overs, also dismissing Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma.
Thanks to his spell, RCB could only manage 203 runs and lost the match by 9 runs. Earlier in the game, Mitchell Marsh starred with the bat for LSG, smashing a brilliant century and scoring 111 runs off just 56 balls.
With 16 wickets in 10 matches, Prince Yadav is currently LSG’s leading wicket-taker this season and among the top wicket-takers of IPL 2026.
