Patrick Branco Ruivo, director general of SETE, the company operating the Eiffel Tower, will step down at the end of 2026. The decision follows an investigation into the exclusion of female employees during a visit by representatives of the BAPS Hindu organisation. The accused was reportedly overpowered, disarmed and arrested, while authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

5. Shiv Sena-UBT Leader Pradeep Purnekar Shot Dead in Thane

Shiv Sena-UBT Manpada division chief Pradeep Purnekar was shot dead near his office in Manorama Nagar, Thane. Police are examining CCTV footage and investigating the identities of the attackers and their escape route. A possible connection with a proposed protest against a local builder has been reported, but police have not confirmed that as the motive.
