The Indian cricket team has officially secured its place in the T20 World Cup semifinals. Following a clinical 5-wicket victory over the West Indies in their final Super-8 match, Team India is now scheduled to clash with England on March 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

In the match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, the West Indies batted first and posted a formidable total of 195/4 in 20 overs. Roston Chase (40) and Jason Holder (37*) were the key contributors for the Caribbean side. The West Indies displayed explosive batting in the death overs, plundering 70 runs in the final five overs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah led the bowling attack, claiming 2 crucial wickets.

Chasing a target of 196, India’s innings started on a shaky note. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan were dismissed early for 10 runs each. Tilak Varma added a quick 27 off 15 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 18 runs before heading back to the pavilion.
