Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a convincing 40-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026, moving up to second place in the points table. The match was played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, where LSG failed to chase down a target of 160 runs.
With this defeat, LSG’s struggles continued as they slipped to ninth position in the standings.
Points Table Update
Punjab Kings remain at the top with 11 points from six matches. RR now occupy the second spot with 10 points from seven games.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are third with 8 points, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in fourth place (8 points from seven matches). Delhi Capitals are fifth with 6 points.
Further down the table, Gujarat Titans hold sixth place, while Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are seventh and eighth respectively. LSG sit ninth, and Kolkata Knight Riders are at the bottom.

Orange & Purple Cap Holders
The Orange Cap remains with Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who has scored 323 runs in seven matches, including a शानदार unbeaten 135-run knock against Delhi Capitals.
Meanwhile, the Purple Cap has gone to Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants. The right-arm pacer has taken 13 wickets in seven matches so far, emerging as the leading wicket-taker of the season.
RR’s balanced performance with both bat and ball has strengthened their playoff chances, while LSG will need a turnaround to stay in contention.
