Jaipur. Vedanta Ltd., one of the world’s leading companies in critical minerals, energy transition metals, oil & gas, power and technology, is hosting the second edition of the Jaigarh Heritage Festival 2025 on December 6–7 at Jaipur’s historic Jaigarh Fort. Organised in collaboration with His Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh, the festival showcases Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage through music, crafts, folk traditions and immersive creative experiences.
The two-day festival highlights Rajasthan’s artistic communities and traditional skills supported by Vedanta. Visitors are experiencing the Karigar Spotlight, featuring traditional embroidery, patchwork and handcrafted products. Performances by Khadtal, Manganiyar and Langha folk artists are adding vibrant cultural energy to the event.
The Uthori Street Play is engaging audiences with stories focused on important social issues in present-day Rajasthan. Self-Help Groups such as Sakhi Microenterprises and Jiji Bai, supported by Vedanta’s skill development and livelihood programmes, are also showcasing their work. A major attraction on the first day was the Sakhi ramp walk, held before popular singer-musician Papon’s live performance, featuring the Upaya winter collection—a blend of Ajrakh block prints and elegant winter colours.

Speaking about Vedanta’s association with the festival, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd., and Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., said,
“Rajasthan has always been home for Vedanta, and its culture continues to inspire us. We believe that preserving heritage is just as important as building for the future, and this festival reflects that spirit beautifully. It keeps craft, music and storytelling alive while connecting generations. Culture isn’t just what we inherit—it’s what we carry forward.”
For over two decades, Rajasthan has been central to Vedanta’s growth, with investments of more than ₹1 lakh crore transforming the state’s mineral-rich regions. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. is among the world’s largest integrated zinc producers and a top global silver producer, while Cairn Oil & Gas remains India’s largest private oil and gas producer, supplying nearly 25% of the country’s domestic crude. Vedanta’s initiatives have revitalised districts like Barmer and Chanderiya in Chittorgarh, generated over one lakh employment opportunities, and strengthened Rajasthan’s position as a hub for metals, energy and sustainable development.
This year, Vedanta has introduced an innovative gamified experience titled ‘Kaun Banega Metal–Head?’. Using AR/VR technology, the interactive zone gives visitors a unique look into Hindustan Zinc’s advanced underground mines and demonstrates how minerals such as zinc, silver, aluminium, copper and oil & gas support renewable energy, healthcare, mobility, defence, electronics and other modern industries. The experience connects Rajasthan’s natural resource legacy with India’s technological and economic progress.

Vedanta’s impact in Rajasthan extends beyond industrial growth. Through more than 7,000 modernised Nand Ghar anganwadis across 30 districts and an investment of over ₹2,500 crore in community development, the company has strengthened early childhood care, education and women empowerment. Vedanta has also been a pioneer in promoting women’s participation in mining—appointing India’s first women underground mining engineers and forming the first women mine rescue team. Through SHGs like Sakhi and Jiji Bai, thousands of women artisans and micro-entrepreneurs have gained new livelihood opportunities and financial independence.
In addition to the Jaigarh Heritage Festival, Vedanta supports key cultural and sporting events across Rajasthan, including the Jaipur Literature Festival, Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon (Jaipur), Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon (Udaipur) and Vedanta Udaipur Music Festival.
By combining heritage, community and innovation, Vedanta aims to build a future where Rajasthan stands as India’s cultural capital, economic powerhouse and a global symbol of resilience and opportunity.
