Only a few days remain before the celebration of International Yoga Day 2026. In this regard, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, is continuously encouraging people to make yoga a part of their daily routine while also raising awareness about its numerous benefits. As part of this initiative, the ministry has been sharing inspirational videos featuring prominent personalities from various fields.
The Ministry of AYUSH recently released a video featuring actress Poonam Dhillon, in which she shared her views on the importance of yoga. Posting the video on Instagram, the ministry stated, “Growing older is a natural and beautiful truth of life, but staying healthy, strong, and flexible is in our own hands.”
The ministry further highlighted that the theme for International Yoga Day 2026 is “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” The objective of this theme is to help people understand that regular yoga practice plays a significant role in maintaining both physical and mental well-being as they age.
In the video, Poonam Dhillon mentioned that due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, June 21 has gained global recognition as International Yoga Day. She emphasized that aging is an inevitable part of life, and everyone wishes not only to look good but also to remain healthy, energetic, and active as they grow older.
According to Poonam Dhillon, yoga is an effective practice that helps maintain flexibility, mobility, and mental peace even in later years of life. She noted that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a comprehensive approach to leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
She further stated that yoga strengthens individuals both physically and mentally, enabling them to face life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. Encouraging people to adopt yoga as a daily habit, she promoted the message of “Yoga 365,” emphasizing that yoga is not a one-day event but a lifelong practice essential for maintaining good health.
Poonam Dhillon also urged citizens to participate enthusiastically in International Yoga Day 2026, which will be observed on June 21. She concluded by saying that by embracing yoga, people can not only achieve better health but also enjoy an active, fulfilling, and happy life as they age.
