Rajasthan Woman Plots Husband’s Murder With Lover Three Months After Marriage, Four Arrested

Jaipur |

In a shocking crime reminiscent of recent high-profile murder cases, a newly married woman in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district allegedly conspired with her lover to murder her husband, just three months after their wedding. Police have arrested four people, including the wife and her boyfriend, in connection with the case.

According to investigators, the accused woman Anjali (23) planned the murder along with her lover Sanjay alias Sanju (25) and two accomplices, Rohit alias Rocky (20) and Badal alias Siddharth (20). The brutal killing took place on a deserted village road under the jurisdiction of the Rawla police station.

Police said Anjali was in a long-term relationship with Sanjay before her marriage. Despite her family being aware of the relationship, she was allegedly married against her will to Ashish Kumar (27) on October 30, 2025. Ashish had recently started working as a teacher at a private school and was attempting to adjust to married life, unaware of the deadly plot against him.

Planned Murder Using Trust

Investigators revealed that Anjali used trust as a weapon, similar to the Indore honeymoon murder case. After marriage, she requested permission to continue her studies in Sri Ganganagar to stay close to her lover, but the request was denied.

Sixteen days before the murder, Anjali visited her parents’ home, where she secretly met Sanjay. During this meeting, the duo allegedly hatched a detailed plan to kill Ashish.

On the night of January 30, Anjali convinced her husband to go for a walk after dinner. On a secluded road near a village, Sanjay and his two associates were already hiding in bushes. Acting on Anjali’s signal, the attackers assaulted Ashish with wooden sticks, repeatedly striking his head. When the injuries failed to kill him, they allegedly strangled him with a muffler.

The post-mortem report confirmed that Ashish died due to severe head injuries and asphyxiation.

Attempt to Mislead Police

To mislead investigators and make the murder appear like a robbery or accident, Anjali allegedly handed over Ashish’s mobile phone and her earrings to the accused. Later, she was found unconscious near the victim. Ashish was taken to the Rawla Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead.

Arrests and Custody

Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan confirmed the arrests of Anjali, her boyfriend Sanjay, and the two accomplices. The three male accused have been remanded to five days of police custody, while Anjali has been sent to two days of custody. Further interrogation is ongoing to uncover additional details of the conspiracy.
