In Japan’s 465-member lower house, the coalition of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Japan Innovation Party secured a total of 352 seats. Japanese media outlets and public broadcaster NHK described the result as a “historic victory,” calling it a strong public endorsement of Takaichi’s leadership.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Sanai Takaichi on the emphatic win through a message on social media platform X.
