— The iconic horse painting created by Majnu Bhai, played by Anil Kapoor in the comedy-drama film Welcome, has remained a popular meme on social media for years. Now, the famous artwork has even made its way to the Met Gala red carpet in New York.

Anil Kapoor attended this year’s Met Gala and grabbed attention with a unique outfit featuring Majnu Bhai’s legendary painting prominently displayed on it. On Wednesday, the actor shared pictures and videos from the event on his Instagram Stories while adding the title track of Welcome in the background.

Sharing the clip, Anil Kapoor jokingly wrote, “When Met Gala meets Majnu Bhai. Art knows no boundaries.”

The famous painting features a donkey placed on top of a horse and has become one of the most memorable comic elements from the film. During a previous show appearance, Anil Kapoor had revealed that the original copy of the painting is still kept at his home. He also explained the meaning behind it, saying that the horse symbolizes hard work, while the donkey represents a person who avoids putting in much effort.

Over the years, the painting has become extremely popular in meme culture and is even available online as decorative artwork. Fans continue to use it humorously across social media platforms.

Released in 2007, Welcome was directed by Anees Bazmee and became one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy films. The movie is remembered for its entertaining storyline, hilarious dialogues, and standout performances by Nana Patekar as Uday Shetty and Anil Kapoor as Majnu Bhai.

The story revolves around Rajiv, played by Akshay Kumar, who falls in love with Sanjana, portrayed by Katrina Kaif. Things take a chaotic turn when Rajiv discovers that Sanjana’s brothers, Uday and Majnu, are gangsters trying to present themselves as respectable men to arrange her marriage.
