Mumbai:
There is exciting news for fans of the popular Tanu Weds Manu franchise. Fresh details about the third installment, titled Tanu Weds Manu: The Next Chapter, have emerged, with the film set to go on floors later this year.
The much-awaited project was announced as part of the new content slate unveiled recently by Eros Innovation.
The film will be directed by Mitakshara Kumar, who is recognized for her work on the television series Heeramandi and The Empire. The project will be produced in collaboration with Rudra Soma Jyoti Limited. The Tanu Weds Manu franchise has already established a strong fan base, and the new chapter is expected to continue its successful legacy.
As part of its revamped content strategy, Eros Innovation announced three major initiatives. The most significant among them is Eros Brahmmand, a new cinematic universe inspired by Indian mythology and folklore. The universe will feature nine original projects, including Nandi – War of Kailash, Dwarka: Gateway to the Universe, Vimaan Wars, Mahabharat 5000 AD, Yakshini, Brahmarakshas, Garud, Kumbhayann, and Mansa Devi. These interconnected stories aim to create an expansive and immersive mythological universe.
The second initiative, Eros Universe, will reimagine several popular film titles for modern audiences. Along with Tanu Weds Manu: The Next Chapter, the lineup includes Phobia, English Vinglish, Desi Boyz, Rangeela, and Tere Naam. According to the company, these stories will be expanded through films, animation projects, micro-dramas, and character-driven content.
The third initiative, Eros Remastered, will begin with the restoration and reimagining of Kochadaiiyaan, starring Rajinikanth. Widely regarded as India’s first motion-capture feature film, the project will be revisited under the creative leadership of Soundarya Rajinikanth.
Speaking about the vision behind the new initiatives, Kishore Lulla said the company aims to bring mythology, beloved film franchises, and classic cinema together to create stories that resonate with audiences across generations.
Meanwhile, Ridhima Lulla stated that the new content slate reflects the company’s ambition to explore innovative and creative approaches to storytelling.
