IPL 2026 : DC becomes No. 2 in terms of most wins against MI

Delhi Capitals (DC) registered an impressive 6-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 8th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. This was DC’s 17th win in 38 matches against MI. With this, the Delhi Capitals franchise has jointly reached the second position in the list of teams with the most wins against Mumbai Indians. Along with them, Punjab Kings have also won 17 matches out of 34 against MI.

At the top of this list is Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have won 18 out of 39 matches against Mumbai Indians. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (15 wins in 34 matches) and Rajasthan Royals (14 wins in 30 matches) are placed third and fourth respectively.

On Saturday, after losing the toss at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Mumbai Indians batted first and scored 162 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. For MI, Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 35 runs off 26 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 51 runs off 36 balls, including 2 sixes and 3 fours.

From the opposition side, Mukesh Kumar picked up 2 wickets. Additionally, Lungi Ngidi, Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam, and T Natarajan took one wicket each.

In response, Delhi Capitals chased down the target in 18.1 overs. For DC, Pathum Nissanka scored 44 runs off 30 balls with 7 boundaries, while Sameer Rizvi played a शानदार innings of 90 runs off 51 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 7 fours. David Miller remained unbeaten with 21 runs.

With wins in both their opening matches, Delhi Capitals (+1.170 net run rate) have climbed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table, while Mumbai Indians, with one loss in two matches, are placed sixth with a net run rate of -0.206.
