Sachin, Harbhajan, Suryakumar, Laxman and Rahane Extend Greetings on Gudi Padwa

Several prominent Indian cricketers, including legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, former spinner Harbhajan Singh, former batter and head of the Centre of Excellence at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) VVS Laxman, legendary spinner Anil Kumble and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, extended warm wishes to the nation on the occasion of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi through social media.

Sachin Tendulkar shared a message on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Heartfelt wishes to you and your family on Gudi Padwa and the Marathi New Year. May the coming year bring happiness, joy, and prosperity.”

Suryakumar Yadav also conveyed his greetings, saying, “Welcome a new beginning with new dreams. Wishing everyone a very Happy Gudi Padwa.”

Harbhajan Singh wrote on X, “A new year, new energy, one connection. We are connected—with health, with tradition, and with you. Happy Ugadi and Gudi Padwa.”

VVS Laxman highlighted India’s cultural diversity in his message, stating, “A new year. Many traditions. Happy Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu Nongma Panba. Celebrating unity in diversity. Best wishes for new beginnings and limitless possibilities.”

Ajinkya Rahane also shared his greetings, writing, “Heartfelt wishes on Gudi Padwa. May the new year bring happiness and success to your life.”

Anil Kumble extended his message saying, “On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, warm New Year greetings to you and your family.”

Gudi Padwa marks the beginning of the Hindu lunisolar calendar and is celebrated with colorful processions and traditional rituals, particularly in Maharashtra. Festivals such as Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu Nongma Panba represent regional celebrations of the Hindu New Year, all observed on the same day, known as Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, typically falling in March or April.
