Some friendships are so deep that they continue even after one friend is gone. Actor Anupam Kher is proving this through his heartfelt bond with his late friend Satish Kaushik.
Satish Kaushik passed away in 2023, but Anupam Kher continues to stand by his friend’s family. Recently, the veteran actor visited the school of Kaushik’s daughter Vanshika Kaushik, attending a school function as her guardian and cheering for her performance.
Supporting His Friend’s Daughter
Anupam Kher shared a video on Instagram showing moments from the school event. In the video, he is seen with Vanshika after watching her perform in a stage show.
The actor revealed that Vanshika surprised him by suddenly delivering dialogues in front of him, leaving him slightly nervous. He expressed immense pride in seeing her acting talent and said it was a joyful moment to watch her perform in a school play.
Kher wrote that attending the event as a guardian and seeing Vanshika perform in a street play (nukkad natak) reminded him of his early days with Satish Kaushik.
“Years ago, Satish and I used to perform street plays together in Delhi. Vanshika is talented, hardworking, and a wonderful actress. I look forward to attending all her future performances,” he said.
A Friendship That Began in Theatre
The friendship between Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik dates back to their days at the National School of Drama, where they studied theatre together before entering the film industry.
Over the years, the two worked together in several films including Guru Dakshina, Hawai Dada, Aaghaaz, Thikana, and Kaagaz 2.
Satish Kaushik also ventured into direction in 2009 with the film Tere Sang, which was produced by Anupam Kher and featured actress Neena Gupta in an important role.
Friendship Beyond Life
Anupam Kher’s gesture reflects a friendship that extends beyond professional collaboration. By supporting Vanshika like his own daughter, he continues to honor the memory of Satish Kaushik and keep their bond alive.
