Gaza, (Agencies).
Israeli forces carried out attacks in northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip, killing at least 17 Palestinians, including six children, according to hospital officials.
Medical staff said the casualties were reported from Gaza City and the Khan Younis area. Several others were also injured in the strikes.
The Israeli army claimed that the incident occurred after what it described as “terrorists” opened fire in northern Gaza, during which one Israeli soldier was seriously wounded.
In response to what it called a clear violation of the ceasefire, the Israeli military said it carried out retaliatory strikes using armored vehicles and aircraft in the area.
Israel and Hamas have been accusing each other almost daily of violating the ceasefire, which came into effect on October 10, 2025.
Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry stated that at least 529 people have been killed so far due to Israeli fire since the ceasefire began. Meanwhile, the Israeli military said four of its soldiers have been killed in Palestinian attacks.
The war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched attacks on southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. In response, Israel launched a large-scale military offensive in Gaza.
