Not Just a Remedy, This Ancient Nutritional Mix Supports Both Eye and Digestive Health

Common symptoms include weakening eyesight, difficulty concentrating on work, a heavy feeling in the head, dark circles, and constant fatigue. Over time, these symptoms may worsen and lead to more serious health issues. However, a traditional remedy passed down through generations may help provide relief from some eye-related discomfort.

Doctors often recommend wearing prescribed glasses consistently to manage worsening vision. At the same time, an old home remedy from grandmother’s traditions is believed to support not only eye health but also memory. This mixture includes Almond, Mishri, and Fennel. Whether in summer or winter, this combination is considered soothing for both the stomach and the eyes.

To prepare it, wash and dry the almonds first. Then lightly roast them on a pan to remove any remaining moisture. Similarly, lightly roast the fennel seeds until the moisture is gone. After that, grind equal quantities of almonds, mishri, and fennel together. Store the powdered mixture in a glass jar. Consume it at bedtime with lukewarm milk. Almonds may help nourish the brain and eyes, fennel is traditionally believed to support eyesight and cool the stomach, while mishri is also considered cooling in nature and mildly sweet.

An important precaution is that people living with Diabetes should consume this mixture only after consulting a doctor, as mishri may raise blood sugar levels. People who have difficulty digesting milk can take the mixture with lukewarm water instead. If someone is experiencing rapidly worsening vision or excessive watering in the eyes, they should also consult a doctor. This mixture may provide nutrition, but it is not a medical treatment.
