Droupadi Murmu has announced a major reshuffle of governors in several Indian states, including Bihar and West Bengal. The appointments were made late Thursday night as part of a broader administrative reorganization.
According to an official statement from the President’s office, R. N. Ravi, who was serving as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal. He will replace C. V. Ananda Bose, whose resignation has been accepted by the President.
In another key appointment, retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain has been named the new Governor of Bihar.
The President’s office also stated that Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, currently the Governor of Kerala, will take on the additional charge of Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Vinai Kumar Saxena has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu will take over as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
Other notable appointments include Kavinder Gupta as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Shiv Pratap Shukla, who has been moved from Himachal Pradesh to serve as the Governor of Telangana.
Additionally, Jishnu Dev Varma has been appointed Governor of Maharashtra, while Nand Kishore Yadav will serve as the new Governor of Nagaland.
