Feeling Constantly Tired and Sluggish? Practicing Matsyasana Daily May Offer Major Benefits

New Delhi

In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, fatigue and sluggishness have become increasingly common. Irregular routines, unhealthy eating habits, lack of sleep, and sitting for long hours can gradually drain the body’s energy and negatively affect mental well-being. As a result, people often feel weak, exhausted, and less productive throughout the day.

To combat these issues, the Ministry of AYUSH recommends incorporating yoga into daily life. Among various yoga poses, Matsyasana, also known as the Fish Pose, is considered highly effective in reducing tiredness and lethargy.

Matsyasana helps open up the chest completely, improving the body’s ability to take deep breaths. Deep breathing increases oxygen supply in the body, which helps purify and energize the blood. This oxygen reaches every part of the body and revitalizes tired cells, gradually reducing heaviness and sluggishness.

The pose also stretches the spine backward, relieving pressure on the nerves. Since the nervous system around the spine plays a vital role in regulating the body’s energy levels, relaxing this area can calm the mind and reduce mental fatigue.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Matsyasana activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body relax and recover. When this system becomes active, heart rate normalizes and stress levels decrease, creating a sense of calm and balance.

In addition, this yoga posture supports better digestion, allowing food to be processed efficiently and ensuring the body receives proper nutrition. Improved nutrition naturally helps reduce weakness and tiredness. Matsyasana also enhances blood circulation, ensuring that every organ receives sufficient energy and oxygen.

The asana is also known to reduce stress, anxiety, and mental pressure. A calm mind positively impacts the body, helping individuals feel more energetic and refreshed. Regular practice of Matsyasana may also improve sleep quality over time.
