FIFA World Cup 2026: Neymar Ruled Out of Brazils Opener Against Morocco

Despite concerns over his fitness, Ancelotti explained why Neymar was included in Brazil’s World Cup squad. According to the Italian coach, Neymar’s vast experience and leadership qualities make him an invaluable presence within the team, especially for younger players. He believes Neymar can play a crucial role in Brazil’s pursuit of a record sixth World Cup title, even if he is not immediately available on the pitch.

Brazil star Vinícius Júnior also praised Neymar, describing him as an inspiration and expressing hope that he will return to action soon. The Real Madrid forward said the entire squad is eagerly waiting to see Neymar back on the field.

Meanwhile, Morocco insist Neymar’s absence will not affect their preparations. Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi stated that his team had prepared for both scenarios—whether Neymar played or not—and would not alter its tactical approach.

Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi admitted he was disappointed not to face one of football’s biggest stars. The Paris Saint-Germain defender said he enjoys competing against the best players in the world and considers Neymar among them.
