Vaibhav–Jaiswal duo creates a storm in IPL, amasses 567 runs in 9 innings

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have played 9 innings as an opening pair for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). During this period, the duo has accumulated 567 runs for the first wicket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut on April 19, 2025. In that match, he opened the innings and added 85 runs in 8.4 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal. After that, the pair went on to register opening partnerships of 52, 166, 1, 5, 76, 37, 75, and 70 runs.

So far in his IPL career, Vaibhav has played 9 matches, scoring 335 runs at an average of 38, including 1 century and 2 half-centuries. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal has played 69 matches in his IPL career, scoring 2,259 runs at an average of 35.29, including 2 centuries and 16 half-centuries.

On Saturday, in the ongoing 9th match of IPL 2026 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Rajasthan Royals opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored 210 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. The opening pair of Jaiswal and Suryavanshi added 70 runs in 6.2 overs.

Vaibhav scored 31 runs off 18 balls, hitting 1 six and 5 fours. After his dismissal, Jaiswal stitched a 56-run partnership for the second wicket with Dhruv Jurel in 37 balls. Jaiswal scored 55 runs off 36 balls, including 3 sixes and 6 fours, while Jurel contributed 75 runs off 42 balls with 5 sixes and 5 fours.

From the Gujarat Titans side, Kagiso Rabada picked up 2 wickets, while Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma, Prasidh Krishna, and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.
