Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally reacted to the growing speculation about his possible entry into politics. Over the past few weeks, social media discussions had intensified over whether Diljit could emerge as a new political face in Punjab due to his massive popularity among youth and his outspoken views on social issues.
Putting all rumours to rest, Diljit made it clear that he has no intention of joining politics. He reshared a Punjabi newspaper post on X that questioned whether he could become Punjab’s next political leader. The report highlighted his increasing influence and strong public image, sparking widespread reactions online.
Responding directly to the speculation, Diljit wrote in Punjabi, “Kade vi nahi” (Never). He further added, “My job is only to entertain people, and I am very happy doing that. Thank you all very much.”
The political buzz around the actor grew stronger after an appeal from a group called “Jago Punjab Manch” went viral on social media. The appeal urged people of Punjab to unite for change and hinted that Diljit could become a voice of hope for the state.
The message highlighted concerns over Punjab’s social and political situation, mentioning rising divisions and growing tensions in society. It suggested that responsible public figures could help bring positive change and indirectly pointed towards Diljit as someone capable of uniting people.
However, with his latest statement, Diljit has made it clear that his focus remains firmly on music, films, and entertaining audiences worldwide.
