A Hindu trader was among three people killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, police said.
According to Khuzdar police officer Wahab Baloch, the incident took place in the Naal area of Khuzdar district, where armed assailants targeted a group of people who had gone on a picnic.
He said the victims, both deceased and injured, were residents of the Wadh area of Khuzdar district and had visited the Harnab Dam area in Naal for recreation.
“Unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them,” Wahab Baloch stated.
As a result of the firing, three people died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Police identified one of the deceased as Mallu Mal, a Hindu trader. The other two victims were identified as Abdul Rashid and Abdul Saboor.
The police officer added that the motive behind the attack is still unknown, and an investigation has been launched to trace the attackers.
Following the incident, relatives of the victims and residents of Wadh staged a protest by blocking the main highway between Quetta and Karachi, demanding justice and improved security.
