Lata Mangeshkar Remembered on Her 97th Birth Anniversary; Sudarshan Institute Students Create Special Sand Art

Puri: People across the world are remembering legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar on her 97th birth anniversary. On the occasion, two students of the world-famous Sudarshan Sand Art Institute in Puri paid a unique tribute to the iconic singer by creating a special sand-art animation.

Sudarshan Sand Art Institute students Monalisa Moharna and Sonali Alook created the sand-art animation to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar. Through the artwork, they conveyed the message: “Tribute to Lata Ji on her birth anniversary.”

The animation depicts Lata Mangeshkar’s portrait crafted in sand and brings back memories of her immortal songs. Through their artwork, the two students sought to convey that although Lata Mangeshkar is no longer among us, her voice and songs will continue to live in people’s hearts forever.

Speaking to IANS about the artwork, student Sonali Alook said, “We are students of the Sudarshan Sand Art Institute. We created this artwork together to pay tribute to Lata Ji on her 97th birth anniversary. Although she is no longer with us, she will always remain alive in our hearts. It took us around half an hour to create this sand-art animation.”

Lata Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929, in Indore. During her career spanning more than seven decades, she lent her voice to over 30,000 songs and took Indian music to new heights.

Songs such as Lag Ja Gale, Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh, Tera Mera Pyar Amar, Gaata Rahe Mera Dil and Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi Shikwa continue to feature among listeners’ favourite playlists.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022, but her melodious voice continues to resonate in the hearts of millions.
