Actress Shilpa Shetty is among those Bollywood divas who are highly conscious about their health. On Monday, while practicing yoga, she also shared important information for women.
The actress posted a video from her workout session on Instagram. In the video, Shilpa is seen performing an inverted yoga pose. She appears to execute the posture with great precision and control.
Through the video, she explained that women should avoid certain exercises and inverted poses during their menstrual cycle. Sharing the video, Shilpa wrote, “Every yoga posture makes you stronger and more flexible, both physically and mentally.”
Explaining the benefits of the pose, she added, “Regular practice improves blood circulation to the brain and activates the thyroid and parathyroid glands. It also helps reduce stress and anxiety. Digestion improves, and it brings a natural glow to the face. The muscles of the neck, shoulders, and abdomen become stronger.”
At the end of her post, after highlighting the benefits, the actress also mentioned precautions related to the asana. She wrote, “If you have high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, neck pain, or a slip disc condition, you should avoid this asana. Women should also avoid this posture during menstruation.”
According to the Common Yoga Protocol of the Ministry of AYUSH, inverted yoga poses mainly include Sarvangasana and Viparita Karani. These postures increase blood flow toward the head. Beginners should practice these asanas under the supervision of an expert.
Regular practice helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reduces anxiety, strengthens immunity, and brings energy and freshness to the body.
