Banswara. A celebratory atmosphere turned into mourning on Friday evening when a bus carrying wedding guests overturned in the Kalinjara police station area of Banswara. The horrific accident resulted in the immediate death of three individuals and left more than 40 others injured, some critically.
The Incident
The bus was part of a wedding procession (Barat) returning from Kheda Wadlipada in Sajjangarh to Sanlai village. Around 6:30 PM, while navigating a steep slope near Ghotiya Amba, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The bus veered off the road and flipped, trapping several passengers under its weight.
There were two buses in the procession; while the first bus cleared the slope safely, the second one met with the disaster. Local residents and passersby rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations, pulling out injured children and adults amidst cries for help.

Fortunately, the groom, Chimanlal Warji Garasia, and the bride were traveling in a separate car and remained unharmed.
Emergency Response
Upon receiving the news, District Collector Dr. Inderjeet Yadav and SP Sudhir Joshi rushed to the hospital to monitor the situation. Approximately 46 injured individuals were referred from Badodiya Hospital to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for specialized treatment. The District Collector has directed hospital administration to remain on high alert and ensure the best possible care for the victims.
