Actress Sheena Chohan, who will be seen playing the character of ‘Rani’ in the upcoming film Arjunain Allirani, has said that she believes in approaching every role with sincerity, commitment, and emotional depth. According to the actress, whenever she signs a project, she fully immerses herself in the world of the character.
Sheena shared that she always tries to align herself with the director’s vision and considers herself a “blank canvas” as an artist, allowing the filmmaker to shape her performance according to the needs of the story. She emphasized that understanding the emotional layers of a character is essential for creating a meaningful connection with the audience.
As part of her preparation for the film, Sheena is currently undergoing special stick-fighting training. In addition, she is investing time in understanding rural Tamil culture, folklore, language, and dialects to bring greater authenticity to her role. She also revealed that she is continuously working on improving her Tamil language skills.
Speaking about her acting process, Sheena said that she completely immerses herself in the environment and mindset of the character she portrays. According to her, acting is not merely about delivering dialogues; it is about experiencing and living the thoughts and emotions of the character.
She explained that this commitment often leads her to take breaks from social media during filming, allowing her to remain fully focused on her performance and the demands of the role.
The actress further noted that every film is a collective creative vision, and an actor’s responsibility is to respect the director’s perspective while delivering their best possible performance.
Reflecting on her previous projects, Sheena revealed that she has always prepared extensively for her roles. For her character in Sant Tukaram, she closely observed the lives of rural women to better understand their experiences. While working on The Trial, she spent time studying church environments and observing the behavior of people associated with them.
Additionally, for a role as a police officer, she closely followed the daily routine, discipline, and work ethic of a female police officer to ensure a realistic portrayal on screen.
Through her dedication to research, training, and character immersion, Sheena Chohan continues to demonstrate her commitment to delivering authentic and impactful performances.
