Prince Yadav Can Bowl in All Formats, Will Soon Debut for India: Ambati Rayudu

Lucknow

Prince Yadav has emerged as one of the standout fast bowlers of IPL 2026 with his impressive performances for Lucknow Super Giants. His brilliant spell against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium on Thursday earned praise from cricket experts and former players alike.

The young pacer delivered a match-winning performance, taking 3 wickets for 33 runs in his four overs, including the prized wicket of Virat Kohli.

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu believes Prince Yadav has all the qualities needed to represent Team India soon.

Speaking on ESPNcricinfo, Rayudu said, “I think he is going to make his India debut very soon. That boy is special. He has something unique about him. The way he runs in, his run-up itself shows he is ready for a fight. He bowls heavy deliveries, and most of his balls hit the stumps. That is his biggest strength.”

Rayudu also praised the delivery that dismissed Virat Kohli, calling it a “special ball.”

“He kept the seam upright perfectly. It was a huge wicket. Prince plays domestic cricket for Delhi and managed to dismiss his own Delhi teammate,” he added.

The former Indian cricketer highlighted Prince’s fitness, rhythm, and consistency as key strengths that make him suitable for all three formats of the game.

Rayudu said, “The best place to watch Prince bowl is from first or second slip. He is extremely fit and agile. His bowling action is very clean, and he has the consistency that many bowlers lack. Most bowlers bowl one or two good deliveries in an over, but this guy bowls four or five quality balls consistently. That is what makes him special.”

Prince Yadav has enjoyed an outstanding IPL 2026 season so far. He is currently the leading wicket-taker for Lucknow Super Giants and the third-highest wicket-taker overall in the tournament, with 16 wickets from 10 matches.
