Kishan’s Explosive Fifty Sets the Tone

Ishan Kishan laid a strong foundation with a blistering knock of 61 off just 24 balls. His innings included a sequence of four consecutive sixes, and he brought up his half-century in just 20 deliveries.

India raced past 50 in only 4.3 overs and crossed the 100-run mark in the seventh over. However, Kishan was dismissed in the eighth over while attempting another big shot, caught on the boundary off captain Gerhard Erasmus.

Sanju Samson, replacing the unwell Abhishek Sharma, made a quick 22 off 8 balls, including three sixes, before falling early. Tilak Varma contributed 25 off 21 balls, while skipper Suryakumar Yadav managed 12 off 13 deliveries.

Hardik Anchors the Middle Order

After a brief slowdown in the middle overs, Hardik Pandya steadied the innings alongside Shivam Dube. Pandya completed his fifty in 27 balls and scored 52 runs, hitting four fours and four sixes.

Dube added 23 off 16 balls before being run out. Namibia fought back strongly in the final two overs, conceding only 10 runs and taking quick wickets. Despite the late collapse, India managed to post a competitive total of 209.

Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs.

Varun Spins Web Around Namibia

Namibia’s chase never gained momentum. Their batting line-up struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 116 in 18.2 overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy led the charge with three wickets, using his variations effectively. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel provided solid support with two wickets each.

With this comprehensive win and a superior net run rate, India moved to the top of Group A in the points table.
