Sunny Deol Remembers Father Dharmendra Through Dharam Veer, Revives Memories of the 1970s

Veteran actor Dharmendra, who began his career with the 1960 film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, is no longer with us.

The actor delivered numerous superhit films during his career that still live on in people’s hearts, including Dharam Veer, which became a global success after its release. A memorable video from this film has now been shared by his son Sunny Deol.

Whenever he gets the chance, Sunny Deol remembers his father through old photographs. This time, however, he shared an animated video from the iconic film Dharam Veer, which brought back nostalgic memories for fans.

In the animated clip, Dharmendra is seen in his famous “He-Man” avatar, and his pairing with Jeetendra looks impressive. Dharam Veer proved to be a turning point in Dharmendra’s career; the film not only performed strongly at the box office but also gained worldwide popularity. It became the second highest-grossing film of its year.

Dharam Veer was a remarkable film of its time, directed by Manmohan Desai and produced under the banners of Mehboob Studio and RK Studio by Subhash Desai. Alongside Dharmendra, the film featured Zeenat Aman, Neetu Singh, and Pran in key roles. The on-screen friendship between Dharmendra and Jeetendra was especially loved by audiences and is still remembered today.

Interestingly, Dharmendra’s childhood role in the film was played by Bobby Deol, who delivered an emotional performance. The film also featured Neetu Kapoor in an important role and helped elevate all its stars to overnight fame.

According to media reports, the film earned around ₹13 crore across India and was also released in five cities in the United Kingdom, where it performed well and earned significantly.
