Dolly Parton ‘Going to Be Just Fine,’ Says Sister Amid Health Concerns

London. Country music legend Dolly Parton is recovering from unspecified health problems, according to her sister Freida Parton, who has urged fans to pray for the 79-year-old star.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Freida wrote that she had been “up all night praying” for Dolly, adding that the singer “hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” Freida assured fans that her sister remains strong and optimistic, saying, “With all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”

The messages of concern come two weeks after Dolly Parton postponed her Las Vegas residency, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, which was set to begin on 4 December 2025 at Caesars Palace. The shows have now been rescheduled for September 2026, with Parton citing ongoing “health challenges.”

In a statement, the “Jolene” singer said doctors had advised her to undergo “a few procedures,” joking that it was “time for my 100,000-mile checkup,” but clarifying that “it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.”

Parton explained that she needed extra time to recover and prepare the show “the way fans deserve,” adding, “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

She also reassured fans that she has no plans to retire: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet … I just need a little time to get show ready.”

The country icon’s remarks follow a difficult year personally — her husband of nearly six decades, Carl Dean, passed away in March 2025 at the age of 82.

Despite recent challenges, friends and family insist that Dolly’s spirit remains unbroken. As Freida wrote, the beloved singer “is loved by millions, and with the world praying for her, she’ll be back stronger than ever.”
